Verified DATUM miners only

Only miners that are submitting shares through a DATUM Gateway can join our communities. Access is granted by our DATUM Verify Discord bot.

The bot only needs your public payout address. Never share keys, seed phrases or your Gateway password.

FAQ

Before you start

What's the difference between SHA256 and Blake2b?

The SHA256 videos cover standard Bitcoin mining on OCEAN with the official OCEAN DATUM Gateway. The Blake2b videos cover CONVOY, which uses its own DATUM Gateway build and settings. Pick the category that matches the pool and hardware you mine with.

Which platform should I pick?

Choose the operating system your node runs on. Ubuntu and Debian are the most common. Docker suits you if you already run services in containers. StartOS needs no terminal at all.

How long does the setup take?

Following a video takes 10 to 20 minutes. The Bitcoin node's first sync takes much longer: several hours to a couple of days, depending on your hardware.

What do I use as username and password on my miners?

The username is your own Bitcoin payout address, optionally followed by .workername. The password is x.

How do I join the Discord and Telegram communities?

Join our Discord and verify with the DATUM Verify bot. Only miners that are submitting shares through a DATUM Gateway can join. Once the bot confirms your shares, the miner channels unlock and it sends you the Telegram invite.

Do I need a failover pool?

Yes. DATUM is in beta, so always set the pool's own stratum endpoint as failover on your miners. That keeps your hashrate working if your node or Gateway goes down.
